Warren Saxton Jones of Henefer Utah passed away April 28th 2026 at 82 years of age. He was born February 21, 1944 to William Marchant and Flora Annetta Saxton Jones.
Warren had an eventful life and it started at his birth. His mother’s appendix burst shortly before his birth and he and his mother’s lives were at risk.
Warren grew up in Henefer and attended North Summit Schools.
Warren met and married Peggy Joyce Porter of Devils Slide, Ut, before joining the Army and being sent to Vietnam. While traveling to Vietnam he, and the ship he was on, was caught up in typhoon Jean. The ship was damaged and went to Guam for repairs. While there the Army asked for volunteers to go to Saipan and the Mariana Islands to provide typhoon relief aid to the people. He loved his country and was very proud to be 13th generation American. While he was overseas his first child was born, a girl, Susan. After returning home he welcomed two boys, Robert. and Justin.
Warren was one of the hardest workers you could ever meet, often to his families frustration. He worked at the Cement Plant in Devils Slide, Ut for more than 30 years holding many titles. He also had a fence and firewood business with his family, hauling logs from the Uinta mountains every weekend. One of the units he and his family did, was creating a view area on top of Elizabeth Ridge.
Warren was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He and his family were sealed in the Ogden temple in October 2, 1987. Later that month, his wife Peggy was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She passed away on November 28, 1987.
In 2004 Warren met a woman from Russia named Irina Ostrovma while online and they fell in love. They talked online for 5 years. In 2009 Warren travelled to Russia to meet Irina in person. After he returned home, they continued talking and in June of 2011 Irina moved to the United States. They were married on July 2, 2011. Warren and Irina have lived in Henefer ever since.
Warren had many medical difficulties in his later life. His joints gave him many problems and he had both his hips and knees replaced. He also battled and beat cancer 4 times. Overcoming Renal Cell Carcinoma, Melanoma, and Prostate Cancer two times. In February of 2026 he received his 5th cancer diagnosis. Stage 4 Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma with bone, liver, spleen and bowel involvement. Warren lived life on his terms, and he wanted to fight again. He did 3 of 6 chemotherapy infusions before complications made continued treatment impossible. During his last battle with cancer, his main concern was making sure Irina would be taken care of.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents William and Flora, his first wife Peggy, his brother Wendel, his sisters Rose, Ruth and Afton as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife Irina, daughter Susan and sons Robert and Justin (Angela). As well as 9 grand children and 22 great grandchildren.
