He was born on August 15, 1955 in Evanston, WY. He was the first born son of Joseph William Kennah and Luella June Evans.

He went to school in Mountain View, WY and graduated from Mountain View High School in 1974. He played basketball, football and was on the track team while there.

In 1982, Steven joined the US Army and served his country for 6 years. He told lots of stories about things from his time in the service and he was honorably discharged in May of 1988.

Steven married Sandra Kaye Youngberg on June 10th, 1988. She had four children at the time when they were married who he loved like his own. They added two more children to the family making them a family of eight with LaMar, Emily, John, William, Kristine and Cheyenne.

In addition to the children they had, Steven also had three God Children; Nathan, Santina and Richie. He was so proud to be their God Father.

Steven enjoyed hunting and just being outdoors. Getting firewood out for people was something that he did.

In 1997, Steven decided to adopt Sandra four children making it official that they all belonged to him. He made the comment, "I am paying for them so they may as well really be mine".

He was working for Jack Hickey in Lonetree, WY on the ranch for 19 years. He then went to work for George Gamble in Burnt Fork, WY on his ranch.

After leaving Gamble's ranch, he went to work for Kendell Richins and Ike Arnell. Later he was working just with Kendell Richins.

While working with Kendell, he went to Colorado to work for three years on the windmills on Bridge Butte. He got his CDL while working with Kendell. He worked for BTI for almost a year hauling coal to the trona mines and then Kendell asked him to go back to work for him in North Dakota.

Steven ended up working in North Dakota for 15 years in the oilfield until he decided to retire at the age of 67.

He also worked in the oilfield in his younger years.

After he retired, he started helping his mother-in-law. He brought her wood down from the mountains. He mowed her lawn and shoveled her walks. he also helped his neighbors.
