Stephen Bruce Moore

Stephen Bruce Moore, 79, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Evanston, Wyoming. Steve’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff who cared for him over the years with such compassion, dignity, and kindness. Their support and friendship were a tremendous blessing to Steve and to all who loved him.

Steve married Sandra, and together they raised three sons: Brandon, Troy, and Michael Moore. Although they later divorced, they remained lifelong friends.
To his grandchildren, he was simply “Papa,” and there was no role he cherished more. Whether it was watching them open presents on Christmas morning, attending dance recitals, celebrating birthdays, camping, or simply spending time together, Papa was there whenever he could be. He was their biggest supporter, always offering encouragement, love, and a steady presence in their lives.

Steve proudly served his country with honor, completing two tours in Vietnam. His service was a source of great pride, and he will be remembered for his dedication and sacrifice. He was also a longtime member of the Masons and the Shriners.

Steve also built a career in the oilfield. Following his retirement in Evanston, he wasn’t quite ready to slow down and continued working in the oilfields of Texas and New Mexico until his final retirement in 2010.

Steve found joy in the simple things in life. He loved camping, spending time outdoors, reading his Bible, enjoying a stack of big pancakes with a Diet Coke, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Zip and Konner. More than anything, he treasured time with his family.

A devoted Christian, Steve loved the Lord and lived his faith through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around him. His family finds comfort knowing he is now home with his Savior.

Steve is survived by his sons: Brandon Moore, Troy Moore, and Michael Moore (Marinda); his cherished grandchildren: Bryley (Gunnar), Keeli, Kenadee, Aynzlee, and Jex; and his great-granddaughter, Rory, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Steve’s legacy is one of service, faith, hard work, and unconditional love. He will be remembered for always showing up—for his family, for his country, and for the people he loved most.

A viewing will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, followed by a tribute from his grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Evanston City Cemetery in Evanston, Wyoming.
