Shirley Ellen Nelson Cluff, 82, of Evanston passed away May 5, 2025 at Evanston Regional Hospital.
She was born June 2, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles and Ellen (Egbert) Nelson. On August 2, 1963 Shirley married W. Eldon Cluff in the Salt Lake City Temple. They spent 14 years living in North Carolina before making Evanston their home. Together they built a life filled with love and family.
After earning her associates degree, Shirley worked for many years at Dr. Adam's office in Evanston contributing her skills and professionalism to the community.
A lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shirley found deep fulfillment in her faith. She was not only a devoted member but also a gifted vocalist and choral leader, sharing her musical talents with her church congregation. Her love for music was an integral part of her identity and a source of joy for those around her.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 62 years Eldon Cluff; a brother Lynn Nelson and numerous grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved sons, Tyeson Cluff and Eldon "Todd" Cluff.
A viewing will take place on Saturday from 9:30 am to 10:45 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the Evanston LDS Sage Street Chapel, located at 201 Sage Street, Evanston, WY 82930.
Shirley will then be laid to rest in a graveside service at the West Jordan City Cemetery, 7925 S 1300 W, West Jordan, UT starting at 3:00 PM.
