Shawna left us on February 12, 2020 due to a horse riding accident. She was doing what she loved—working with horses. Shawna touched the lives of many people throughout her life. Her passion in life was her children, horses, dogs, fishing, camping, and doing crafts.
Her love for horses came from her Dad. She spent a lot of happy times up at the homeplace on Hwy 150. This is where she learned to ride horses and other ranch work.
Shawna was born in Odessa, Texas and moved to Evanston at the age of 8. She married Travis Lamb and they were later divorced.
She was working for Chris Mitchell at the local race track before moving to the Taylor Ranch between Payson and Santaquin, Utah, where she continued working for Chris Mitchell.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Ann Martin of Evanston; her brother John Davis and brother-in-law Antonio Davis of Taylorsville, Utah; her son, JD Martin of Evanston; her daughter, Dallas Lamb of McKinnon, Wyoming; and Justin Dunford of Utah.
She is also survived by Jeff and Candice Martin, Clark and Jerry Martin of Evanston; Garth and Laurie Martin and Randy Martin of Texas; and Kathy Cox of Alaska. She also has numerous cousins and friends across the country.
She was preceded in death by her father Dee Martin; grandparents, Richard and Lucille Martin, and grandmother Doris Drafahl.
She was a loving and caring person, and will be our special “angel” watching over all of us now. A GoFundMe.com account has been set up in Shawna’s name.
Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
