Shaun Ryan

Oct 27, 1965 — Jul 5, 2026

Sterling, Alaska

Shawn Ryan, also known as "Cowboy" or family nickname 'Skeeter" age 60, passed away on July 5, 2026, in Sterling, Alaska.

Shawn was born on October 27, 1965, in Provo, Utah, to Gary and Bonnie Ryan.Shawn had the gentlest heart and would do anything for anyone. He was always one of the first to be there when someone needed him.

He loved his family deeply and enjoyed laughing about memories of growing up with his siblings. He was especially close to his aunt Shawna, for whom he was named, and his cousin Shana, Shawna’s daughter, who has always been like a sister to the family.

The outdoors was Shawn’s greatest passion. He loved hunting, fishing, and roaming every mountain he could. His fascination with moose and caribou led him from Montana to Alaska, where he truly thrived. He loved telling everyone about his hunting expeditions and sharing pictures of the wildlife he encountered.

The love of Shawn’s life was his wife, Tammy. His world revolved around her, just as hers revolved around him. Their love and devotion were an example to everyone who knew them.

When Tammy passed away, Shawn’s life was never the same. He mourned her every day, and we find comfort in knowing they are together again.

Shawn’s teasing nature, gentle heart, and wisdom will be deeply missed by us all.

He is survived by his siblings: Lanette and Neil Clegg of Fruitland, Utah; Ginger and Rob Mix of Tooele, Utah; Travis and Angela Ryan; Savanna and Bobby Wyatt; and Rowdy Ryan, all of Great Falls, Montana.

Also, many nieces and nephews that loved and adored him.

Shawn was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy; his parents, Gary and Bonnie Sue Ryan; and his siblings, Mac Ryan, Teresa Ryan, and Shad Ryan.

The family will hold a private celebration of Shawn’s life as he is laid to rest beside his mother in Francis, Utah.
