Scott Dee Martin, 58, passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2026. He was born on November 24, 1967, to Clifford Dee Martin and Sharol Gerrard. Scott grew up with a strong sense of family and community values that remained central throughout his life. He worked on the family ranch with his dad. Before he could drive, many times he was retrieved from school by his mom to help pull a calf while his dad was at work. He enjoyed haying season and felt a deep connection to working in the field.
Scott graduated from Mountain View High School in 1986 and went on to attend Weber State University. Following his education, he moved to Laguna Beach, California, where he began a successful career in accounting. Over the years, he dedicated his professional life to the field he loved, working in payroll, accounts payable, and receivables. He later returned to Evanston, Wyoming and brought his talents closer to home, working at Evanston Regional Hospital and Mountain Regional Services in the accounting department. Scott had a natural affinity for numbers and systems, and he took pride in staying ahead of the curve, always eager to explore the latest technology and gadgets.
Scott shared 32 years with Diana Lee Albrecht, and together they built a family that meant everything to him. They were blessed with two daughters, McKenzie Mariah Beck and Ashley Anna Martin, and lovingly raised their special needs foster son, Tyrell Hansen, for 28 years. Though Scott and Diana later divorced, his devotion to his children never wavered. His family remained his greatest source of pride and joy.
Scott had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time in the mountains and at the lake, especially boating and fishing, and found great joy in traveling and experiencing new places. He also loved 4-wheeling and barbecuing. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and the genuine care he showed to others. Scott built a wide circle of friends over the years, and he will be remembered by many as selfless, compassionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his father, Cliff Martin; his sisters, Nikki (Glenn) Roach and Jennifer Martin; and his brother, Josh Martin; as well as his children, McKenzie (Daniel), Ashley, and Tyrell; and his grandson, Bennett Beck.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharol Thornock, and his stepmother, Phyllis Martin.
Scott’s legacy of kindness, love, and dedication to family will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
