Sarah Marie Collett Taylor, born April 3, 1948 to Charles James Collett and Blanche Amelia Bartlett; in Evanston, Wyoming; passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 8, 2025.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend left us with some words of her own she wanted us to share.
“I want it to be told; I want my funeral to be a celebration of my life; what a wonderful and blessed life God gave me. There has never been a time when I wasn’t loved. I always had a home with people I loved and cherished. God gave me challenges to build and form me into the person I became. They were hard, but I learned so much working through them. He gave me a life partner that was loving, caring, strong, an amazing father, and a deep love. Losing him from this life was the hardest challenge in my life. He was my soul mate, we were one. Although I am willing to endure the pain of his leaving (til we are together again) to have been able to share my whole together. Our love gave us seven completely amazing children. They are so loving and loyal, I couldn’t have survived losing LaMar without them. How could I wish for more. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for my amazing life!”
Oh, what a wonderful reunion she must be having with her husband & life partner Lester “LaMar” Taylor, and everyone whom proceeded her in death including: her mother Blanche A. Bartlett Rosser; father Charles J Collett; grandmother Sarah Eleanor Robbins Collett; sister “Joy” Jessie Mae Collett Dickinson; brother Kenneth William Rosser; granddaughter Alexandra Taylor; and many other family and friends.
She will be missed and forever loved by those of us who are living including: Her best friend and sister Loretta May Taylor Jones; children Clinton Thayne (Heather) Taylor; Jennice Collett Taylor Hoggatt; Clayton Craig (Krista) Taylor; Charles Oren Taylor; Calob LaMar (Tia) Taylor; Christopher Jason (Renee) Taylor; and Cameron Zachary (Katie) Taylor; and many many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; brothers Randall Rosser and Rick Rosser; and many other family and friends.
Her most cherished role was being our mother and oh what a wonderful mother she is. She was a member of, “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.” She was proud of her Mormon Pioneer heritage and diligently served in various capacities as a member of the, “Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.” She was honored to be included as a member of the Evanston High School Class of 1966. She was a distinguished leader in the “Cub Scouting” organization earning the esteemed, “Silver Beaver” award.
She loved crocheting, crafting, creating, and exploring. She was delighted to crochet for new born babies. She loved crafting her own and helping others with their various crafting projects. She made the most beautiful wedding cakes for the newlyweds. She enjoyed endlessly riding around exploring the countryside with her husband & children.
We know she would want to be remembered for how she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all of her heart and soul. She did her best with all of the time she had. Forever we will cherish our time with her. We will tell our stories of our shared time, experiences, and sometimes shenanigans (Aunt Loretta, wink, wink). Until we meet again, “We Love You, See ya Later!”
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 16th, 2025 at the LDS Chapel Located at 201 Sage Street in Evanston, Wyoming. With a viewing at the same Chapel Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM.
To honor Grandma Sarah's joy for creating, crafting, and crocheting we are asking her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and anyone else who are interested to create, craft, or crochet a flower for a bouquet to be displayed at the service and graveside.
