Sarah Sue Dean, age 75, a beloved lifelong resident of Evanston, passed away on May 11, 2026. Born on April 23, 1951, to George William and Mary (Bruce) Schwitzer, Sarah was a vibrant and creative soul who left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

She married Gary Dean on June 26, 1970, in Lyman, Wyoming, and together they welcomed two wonderful children, Heather Hall and Chad Dean. For over 52 years,

Sarah owned and operated Sarah's Ceramics, sharing her love for art and creativity with her community. She also volunteered her time at the Senior Center, teaching ceramics to others eager to learn. Sarah was an active member of many organizations, serving as president of Angels Among Us and being a proud member of the Red Hat Society and the Eagles Auxiliary. Her passions included fishing trips to Lake Powell and Flaming Gorge, bowling with friends, and traveling across the country and Europe, always seeking new adventures.

Above all, Sarah cherished spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother to 8, and great-grandmother to 16, and she found immense joy in watching her family grow.

She is also survived by her loving husband Gary; children Heather (JD) Hall, Chad (Amber) Dean; a brother, Chris Schwitzer; grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter Morgan Hall McGuff.

A celebration of Sarah's life will be planned for a later date, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor her incredible spirit. Details will be announced soon. Sarah will be missed dearly, but her legacy of love and creativity will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
