In Loving Memory of Rocky Dean Young

November 24, 1947 - August 5, 2026

Rocky Dean Young, 78, of Evanston, WY, passed away on August 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born November 24, 1947, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Max Little and Edna Ruth Young. He was the third of eight children, with two brothers and five sisters. From an early age, Rocky was known for his hardworking, positive attitude.

He always enjoyed playing sports, woodworking, and sharing his love of laughter with others. Rocky learned from a young age a hardworking ethic and how to provide for his family. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California. He loved serving in many different church callings, and he dedicated his time to those around him. He had multiple different jobs throughout his life, but his favorite was being an educator.

His greatest accomplishment was his family. On September 5, 1969, he was eternally sealed to Judy Ann Goodwin in the Salt Lake City Temple. They later had 10 children, with many others who were loved in their home.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Edna Young; three sisters, Reva Marsh, Linda Williams, and Kerrie Randall; and a daughter, Randee Abigail Young.

Rocky is survived by his eternal bride of 56 years, Judy Ann; children, Rebecca Ann (Aaron), Jennifer Dee (Justin), Jeremy Dean (Kim), Ryan Allen (Amber), Robyn Angela (Joel), Julia Danielle (Corey), Jacqueline Dawn, Joseph David, and Jillian Denae, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Max Young and Tracy Young, and sisters, Tamara Packer and Ramona Nelson.

He will be remembered not because he lived a perfect life, but because he lived his life. He loved deeply, laughed loudly, made mistakes, learned, grew, and left pieces of himself in the people he loved. And if there was one thing that he would want everyone to remember, it is to make sure there is always laughter in your life.

He was loved. He was known. He was here. And he will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10th, at 11:00 am at the Evanston Stake Center on 721 W. Cheyenne Dr., Evanston, WY
