Reed Wilford Bailey, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 9, 2026, at his home in Sandy, Utah.
Reed was born on September 5, 1956, in Nephi, Utah, to Keith and Eileen Bailey. At the age of five, his family moved to Kamas, Utah. He attended South Summit High School, where he enjoyed participating in a variety of sports and rodeo.
On August 15, 1974, Reed married the love of his life, Connie Lambert. Together, Reed and Connie shared nearly 52 years of marriage and were blessed with four children: Wesley, Brody, Brooke, and Travis.
Throughout his professional life, Reed was a long-serving and valued employee of both Utah Power and Zions Bank. He was known not only for his hard work and dependability, but also for the relationships he built with those around him.
While Reed took pride in his work, his greatest happiness was found outside of it. He loved the outdoors and was never more at home than when he was hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and camping with his friends and family. Animals always held a special place in Reed’s heart, particularly his beloved hunting dog, Jetta, who was a constant companion and brought him tremendous joy.
Reed will be remembered most for his kind and generous heart. He was universally loved by those fortunate enough to know him and was always among the first to lend a hand to someone in need. He had a natural ability to make people feel welcome, cared for, and valued.
Above all else, Reed was a dedicated family man. His life revolved around the people he loved. His wife, children, and grandchildren were the center of his world, and nothing brought him greater pride or happiness than spending time with his family. His five grandchildren, whom he adored, held an especially treasured place in his heart, rarely missing one of their activities.
Reed was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law Lola Lambert; his sister, Christine; and his son, Wesley.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie; his children, Brody (ChaBlee), Brooke (David), and Travis (Lauren); and his five beloved grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Marion, Utah cemetery, 832 E 2700 N, Kamas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Reed's memory to the University of Utah Parkinson's Outreach Program.
