Patricia Lynne Akins, 62, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2026. She was born on April 1, 1963, in Oakland, California, to William and Barbra Akins.
She grew up in a happy family and spent many weekends at Lake McClure with her family, memories she carried with her throughout her life. She was a loving and caring big sister.
Patricia later built a life centered around her greatest joy-her family.
She was the proud mother of three daughters, who were the center of her world.
Patricia had many life experiences, but one of her most unforgettable was diving with great white sharks. She had a deep love for sharks and enjoyed sharing her knowledge and fascination with others. In recent years, you could often find her at the state park visiting the white buffalo and excitedly sharing updates when new calves were born, or at home with her beloved cats watching her favorite basketball team, the Golden State Warriors.
She adored her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. One of the most special ways she showed her love was by writing weekly postcards to each of them. She thoughtfully personalized every card, sharing fun facts, asking questions, and staying connected to their lives. These postcards will forever be treasured keepsakes.
Patricia will be remembered for her kindness, her intelligence, and her genuine love for others. She had a way of making people feel seen, cared for, and important.
Patricia is lovingly remembered by her daughters and their families:
Debra Akins with her children Jeremiah Haskins and Noah Haskins
Tabitha (King) Koppinger, her husband Troy Koppinger, and their children Ariana Archibald, her partner Terry Wood, and their daughter Harper Wood, along with Kadence Haines and Lincoln Koppinger
Amanda King, her partner Tom Dice, and her son Silas Dice
She is also remembered by her sister, Susan (Akins) Segovia, her nephew Alexander Segovia, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched deeply.
Her love, curiosity, and the way she made others feel will stay with her family and loved ones forever.
