Marion, UT - Miriam Margaret Weller Jepsen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a woman of great faith, love for others, integrity, and courage, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 4, 2026, passing away at her home of natural causes. Miriam was born on May 9, 1930 to Gustav August Weller and Gertrud Margareth Martin in Salt Lake City, Utah.
At the age of 8, her family moved from the Avenues in Salt Lake to the family farm in beautiful Kamas Valley. Following graduation, Miriam eventually moved to Millcreek with her married sister, Eve Hirst. During her time there, she was introduced to Donald Watson Jepsen. She and Don were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on May 29, 1958.
They began and raised their family in Ogden, Farr West, and eventually moved to Marion, Utah, where they remained for the rest of their lives. Miriam loved flowers, dancing, and singing. In addition to caring for her children at home, she ironed clothing for others, sold Watkins products, cards, and gift wrap throughout the valley. She has been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life, serving as Stake Missionary, Primary President, participating in Ward Choirs and various other callings. She also served with her husband, Don, as proselyting missionaries, in Billings, MT, and Albuquerque, NM, as well in the St. George, and Salt Lake Temples. Through her love and service to her family and her community, she is loved and respected by many.
Miriam is survived by her six children, Robert (Jenae) Jepsen, Mendon, UT, Paul (Kim) Jepsen, Eagle Mountain, UT, Daniel (America) Jepsen, Provo, UT, Donald Jepsen, Jr., Salt Lake City, UT, Kathy (Peter) Harnett, Marion, UT, Marilyn (Kelly) Scott, Draper, UT. 11 Grandchildren and Spouses; 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Jepsen and her daughter, Barbara Jean Jepsen; her son-in-law, Peter Harnett, her parents and siblings: Johannes Weller, Ruth Weller Melville, Samuel Weller, Rachel Weller Summers, Eve Weller Hirst, David Weller, an infant brother who passed at birth, Esther Weller Watson, Jared Weller, Mary Weller Hair, Sarah Weller Prentiss, and Joseph Weller.
Funeral Services for Miriam, will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, noon, at the Kamas Valley Stake Center, 3038 N. State Road 32, Marion, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the Funeral Service, on July 11, 2026 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Kamas Valley Stake Center. Interment will be at the Marion Cemetery, 832 E. 2700 N., Marion, UT.
Her greatest Loves and Joy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank you for all the family, friends and neighbors who spent time with her and for those who cared for her during her time of need--including her hospice care.
