Mildred Hale Lemon, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the age of 90.

Mildred, together with her late husband, William “Bill” H. Lemon, built a life deeply rooted in love, faith, and hard work. Their dairy farm was not only the center of their livelihood but also the heart of their family life. Mildred’s unwavering dedication was evident in every aspect of her daily routine—whether she was feeding calves, milking cows, putting up hay, or raising her children, she carried out each task with diligence and care. Beyond her work on the farm, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her church callings, where her willingness to serve and lend a helping hand touched countless lives. Her legacy is one of devotion, resilience, and generosity, qualities that will long be remembered by all who knew her.

Mildred’s nurturing nature extended beyond her own children as she supported and helped other children by giving them a home, much like a second mother. She and Bill raised 8 children of their own, instilling in them the same work ethic, warmth, and humor that defined her. When all the children left home, she enjoyed working as a substitute teacher.

Known for her culinary skills, Mildred could cook for an army, with her pies, chocolate cake, never-ending homemade bread being favorites—always made with love. She had a sharp wit and a hearty laugh that could light up any room. Mildred was often the center of attention at gatherings, her laughter and quick comebacks bringing joy to those around her.

Mildred’s creativity and love was on full display in her embroidery and quilts, all of which were made with patience and care. Her deep love for her family was felt in everything she did, whether it was crafting a beautiful pillowcase or making and sharing a meal with those she loved.

Mildred put her whole heart into doing her best at anything she was asked to do. She and Bill faced many challenging times throughout their lives. Midred never murmured or complained. Instead, she met each day with courage and hope.

Her life mirrored her strong testimony of Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to sing and was asked to serve as the chorister in many wards throughout her life. She also taught and served in the Primary & Relief Society Presidency's.

She is survived by her 8 children: Duane Lemon (Margaret), Janice Bastian (Dwight), Joyce Hipwell (Arnie), David Lemon (Marion), Esther Pointer (Robert), Carol Lisa Haskins (Les), Daniel Lemon (Victoria), and Benjamin Lemon (Jodie). She is further survived by 33 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply and all of whom brought her tremendous pride and joy.

Though she has departed this life, the sweetness of Mildred’s example will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. To all who knew and loved her, she embodied enduring love, strength, hard work, and devoted service to others and to the Lord she cherished. In her humble way, Mildred would have summed it all up by saying it was “easy as pie.”

A funeral service will be held on September 27, 2025, at the Francis Ward Building, 387 W. Last Frontier Lane, Francis, Utah, with a viewing at 9:30 AM and the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Francis Cemetery.
