Michael Ray Montoya, 60, passed away on July 20, 2021 from heart failure.
He was born on May 10, 1961 to Juan and Patricia (Munoz) Montoya. Mike graduated from Evanston High School in 1979 and went on to complete welding training trade school in 1980. He made his career with the Union Pacific Railroad and medically retired as a Chief Test Car Operator in July of 2009.
He married his true love, Delores Clifford on November 30, 2001 and gained a step daughter and two step sons that he loved as his own.
Michael never knew an enemy and was friends with everyone he met. His humor and kindness will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; mother Patricia Montoya and his sister in law Bonnie (Hood) Montoya.
He is survived by his wife Delores Clifford Montoya; his father Juan Montoya; his siblings Randy and Helen (Gary Griffith) Montoya; his stepchildren Tom and Charles Clifford, Denise (Peter) Bricarello and grandchildren Amanda (Jesse) Hill, Thomas, Adam, Cori Clifford and Juliana, Severyn, Nicholas Bricarello as well as great grandchildren Michael Callan, Jesse Hill III, Christopher Hill and soon to be born Amelia Carrillo, as well as his 2 nieces, Jamaica (James) Peoples and Maggie (RJ Vega) Montoya, nephew Spencer Montoya and 2 great nephews, Malaki and Keaton.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Evanston City Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Crandall Funeral Home from 11:00-12:30 PM prior to the graveside.
Memorials may be made to the Montoya family.
