Michael J. Koval passed away peacefully at his home in Evanston with his beloved wife at his side, after an almost six year battle against cancer.
He was born on December 31, 1948, to Michael and Ann Koval in Windber, PA. His family moved to Ohio when he was five years old.
Michael was a Marine and fought courageously for is country in Vietnam where he almost lost his life, earning a purple heart for his service.
He married Denise Sebille in January 1972. They had one daughter, Brook who preceded him in death on April 24, 2018.
In Ohio, Michael worked for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, building high voltage towers.
Michael and his family moved to Casper, WY, in 1979. Michael was employed at Amoco Production Co. at the Salt Creek Field until transferring with the company to Evanston, WY, where he worked as an Operator at the Painter Plant until retiring in 2004.
Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and almost everything outdoors. Michael was an avid dog lover; throughout his life Michael had the love of 15 dogs. Two springer spaniels were his favorite hunting dogs, both with the name Jake.
He also loved going back to Ohio every fall to hunt deer with his cousins, Paul, Mike, Tom, Mark and special friend Gene.
He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Ann Koval, his in-laws, Harry and Georgia Sebille, and his daughter Brook.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Denise Koval, his only grandson, Dylan Michel Coburn and his dad Pat Cobourn who he dearly loved as a son, his sisters Karen Smith and Carol Seager (Bob) and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in Ohio at a later date where he will be put to rest next to his daughter, Brook.
