Melissa Kay Brewer

Melissa Kay Brewer was born on October 24, 1989 in South Lake Tahoe, California to Luther and Cheri Edwards. On June 18, 2010, Melissa married Tyrel Brewer in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She passed away on September 2, 2025 in Lyman, Wyoming.

She was a dedicated educator who spent her entire career as a teacher, most recently at Lyman Intermediate School. Her passion for teaching and her commitment to her students were evident throughout her career.

Melissa loved traveling and camping. She enjoyed puzzles, games and movie nights which brought joy and connection to her family. Additionally, Melissa took great thrill in skydiving. She continually embraced life to its fullest and encouraged others to do the same.

Melissa’s faith and love for God was most important to her. She loved her Sunday school classroom and church family.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband, Tyrel Brewer, and their children: Richard, Preston (Mandy), Remington, Mya, and Kaden. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Amilia Brewer. The legacy of love and strength she fostered within her family will continue to resonate through their lives.

Melissa Kay Brewer will be remembered for her strong faith, leadership, and way with words. Her spirit brought warmth, kindness, and love to all that knew her. She leaves behind a profound impact that will be felt by her family, colleagues, and students for years to come.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 1:00pm at the Mountain View High School Auditorium.
