Marvin J Wagstaff ,78, passed away on May 8, 2025, in St George, Utah.
Born on July 14, 1946, often referred to as the “best day of the year” in Hilliard Wyoming. Marvin was the son of David and Amy (Hutchinson), who taught him the value of hard work, something Marvin instilled in his children and grandchildren. Marvin loved life and would often share a joke at his own expense for the entertainment of others. Marvin’s favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling and doing puzzles. He was also an active member of UMWA and was a member of the VFW, Eagles, and Elks club 2588 where he served as ER from 1996-1997 and Elks club 1743.
On July 26, 1969, Marvin married his first love Kathleen “Kathy” Elizabeth Waite. Their lives were full of laughs, love, and adventure. Together they created 3 little bundles of joy, Mark (Jacki), Troy (Laura), and Suzi Bond (Justin) who although she was the youngest, Marvin always referred her as his better idea.
A new chapter started in Marvin’s life when he met Annie Laxague, she truly brought joy and balance to his life. There love grew and they were married on May 26th, 2004. There adventures brought joy to them and everyone around them as they traveled, laughed, and loved one another.
Marvin loved life and socializing with his friends and family and always made others feel welcome. When Marvin retired, he found true joy going on adventures with his dog Mylee, who brought him many hours of happiness.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Kathy, brothers Ray and Tommy, and his sisters Fay, Virginia, Linda, and Bertha.
He is survived by his wife Annie, his three children, 16 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, brothers David (Loretta), Roy, and Larry (Sue), and sisters Jeanette, Terry, and Peggy.
Marvin will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him. Many thanks to Jaime, his Hospice nurse. They had some special moments.
