Mark Zeller Brinkerhoff, of Evanston, Wyoming, passed away on November 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 66 years old. Mark was born in Worland, Wyoming, to Arnold Edward (AB) Brinkerhoff and Marian Zeller on October 24, 1959.
Mark grew up in both Moorcroft and Powell, Wyoming. While attending high school, he worked with his dad on various drywalling projects. Mark always loved a good joke. While working with his dad, he would spit sunflower seeds into the mud, which would later show up on the walls. He used his drywalling talents throughout his life and helped all of his children with their home projects, finding great joy in serving others.
Mark served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sydney, Australia. After returning home, his brother Bart introduced him to the love of his life and soulmate, Kathy Foulger. Mark and Kathy dated for two years and spent much of their time driving around in Mark's El Camino. Kathy later learned to love the car, although she originally swore she would only go on one date in it. They were sealed for time and all eternity on July 22, 1983, in the Idaho Falls Temple.
During the early years of their marriage, Mark and Kathy lived in several places while he completed his schooling. They spent a year in Provo, Utah, where Mark attended Brigham Young University and their first daughter, Britni, was born. They then moved to North Dakota, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota. Their second daughter, Jessie, was born during this time. After Mark finished school, they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, for his first job. They later had the opportunity to move closer to home in Cody, Wyoming, where he practiced for ten years. It was in Cody that they welcomed four more children: Courtney and Alissa, who are now reunited with their dad, and four years later, Tyler and Becca, who were born within one year of each other, their "Irish Twins." Their last child, Zach, was born just 18 months after the "Irish twins."
In 1998, Mark and Kathy moved to Evanston, Wyoming, where he opened Uinta Physical Therapy. He was passionate about his work and continued practicing for 27 more years.
Mark worked full days at his physical therapy practice and still came home ready to be highly involved in his children's lives. He spent evenings watching Britni cheer and Jessie play basketball, and he wrestled with his younger children. He loved hunting with Zach and watching his wrestling matches. He spent weekends riding dirt bikes with Tyler. Many evenings were dedicated to going through flashcards with Becca, after which he often sent her and her mom on a shopping trip. For Mark, life was all about family.
Mark had an incredible ability to make anyone feel like a friend. He loved deep conversations, even with people he had just met. He was always humming, whistling, or making up songs. He was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed.
Kathy was Mark's greatest blessing. They were true partners, and their dedication to family was the center of their lives. Whenever Kathy walked through the living room, Mark would tell the kids, "You've got a hot mom!" He adored her and made sure everyone knew it. He also taught his boys to treat their wives with the same respect and love he showed Kathy. His absence leaves a tremendous void in her life.
Mark will be cherished by his loving wife of 42 years, Kathy (Foulger) Brinkerhoff; his children and their spouses: Britni (Jared) Plowman of Smithfield, UT; Jessie (Chris) Petersen of Pocatello, ID; Tyler (Katie) Brinkerhoff of Lehi, UT; Becca (Josh) Hanberg of Roy, UT; and Zach (Madison) Brinkerhoff of Rock Springs, WY; as well as his 13 beautiful grandchildren and many extended family members.
