Lola Jean Anderton Eastman passed away at the age of 82, on April 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in her home after a courageous battle with Lymphoma cancer.
Lola was many things: a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She touched countless lives with her unwavering kindness. Born in 1943, in Evanston, Wyoming, to loving parents Annie and Robert Anderton, Lola spent her early years in Rawlins, Wyoming. After her father's passing, her mother married Robert (Bob) Hinshaw, and the family returned to Evanston, where Lola was raised. In time, she met and married the love of her life, Philip V. Eastman. Together they shared over 50 wonderful years and raised four beautiful children: Vicki, Scott, Darren and Chad. Their family grew to include their children's spouses- Mark, Karla, Maydi and Brynn and Lola became the proud and adoring grandmother to her 11 grandchildren: Derek, Brittany, Melinda, Haley, Mikayla, Madison, Kennedy, Trevor, Lola, Annie, Phoenix, Andrew and a joyful great-grandmother to Ariella.
Lola was a jack of all trades. She drove the gas truck, ran the Woodruff store, baked wedding cakes for the local newlyweds, and cleaned whatever was brought home from the hunt. Lola retired after twenty plus years working as a custodian for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She never let a holiday pass without a handwritten card. Throughout her life, Lola honored her Savior, Jesus Christ, as a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings, helping others feel not only her love but the love of the Savior, Jesus Christ. In her later years, Lola found deep peace and joy in the house of the Lord, dedicating herself to genealogy work and completing temple ordinances for thousands of people on the other side of the veil. She was a faithful servant to the end. Lola will be remembered for her kindness, steadfast love, faithful spirit and the joy she brought to every life she touched.
Lola's life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 12:30 pm, at the Woodruff Chapel with interment to follow at the Eastman Cemetery, which she was a caretake of for many years. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Eastman Cemetery in her memory. Venmo Eastman-Cemetery.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to many members of the community who showed love and support through the years, through visits, service, and compassionate care at the end of her life, we especially appreciate the care that Atlas Home Health Care and Hospice provided and deep appreciation for Kylie Argyle and Natalie Cornia.
