Lee N. Johnson- passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, in Heber, Utah. He leaves behind a void felt by countless friends and family members. Born in Coalville, Utah on January 3, 1947, Lee and his twin brother Dee- were the youngest of Alfred and Georgia Johnson’s five children.

Lee graduated from South Summit High School in 1965. He enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country from June 1966 to 1969. He attended basic training in Fort Bliss, Texas, and spent 11 months in Taiwan during the Vietnam conflict. Later, he attended a trade school for drafting & design in Salt Lake City.

Lee had a work ethic that was unmatched due, to his experience in his early years working on his family farm. This trait served him and his family throughout his lifetime. He held many jobs over the years, too many to list. Many years were spent as a truck driver hauling loads across the country and driving logging trucks in the Unitas for both Bethers & Leavitt’s. Later, he began his long career maintaining towers for the FAA from which he retired after 27 years.

Lee was proud to be a Johnson, and his roots ran deep in the soil of Oakley, Utah. That deep connection to his Oakley roots was woven into the essence of who he was. Lee had a lifelong passion for the land and farming, which remained constant throughout his life. He found great joy and purpose in farming and had a natural talent for it. When he was not working on his own land, he could be found helping many in the Kamas Valley with a swather, bailer, tractor, or maintaining farm equipment and plowing snow in the winter. Lee was happiest on a tractor or in the field.

Lee's proudest accomplishments included the family he cherished dearly, his first marriage to Susan Scott, which blessed him with three wonderful children: Amberlee (Josh), Ryan (Wendi), and Clinton, and they have the great privilege of calling him dad. However, it was his marriage to ‘the love of his life’, Barbara Turnbow, whom he adored and with whom he shared countless precious moments and memories with. They affectionately referred to one another as ‘my love’ or ‘the love of my life’.

Lee also delighted in the joy of his seven grandchildren —Kaylee Brown (Henry), Scott Fullmer, Peyton Johnson, Allison Fullmer, McKynlee Johnson, Carson Fullmer, and Xander Johnson and gave each of them a unique grandpa nickname they will always cherish. He was always eager to share his wisdom, chat on the phone, lend a listening ear, sit on the front porch and always share a sweet treat of 'grandpa's medicine' with the grandkids.

Lee knew the importance of true friendships, and his life was filled with friendships. He always remained connected to so many close friends throughout his life. He delighted in the camaraderie of those friends and found great joy around the poker table on Sunday mornings, surrounded by his friends who were his family.

His love for coffee was legendary; he was always quick to offer a steaming ‘cup of joe’ to everyone. He would welcome each visitor, old or new, to sit on the porch and enjoy the beautiful view or share a cup of coffee at the table. Those memories with Lee will be cherished by all those who were welcomed by him.

Lee was friendly, talkative, no-nonsense, no pretense, hardworking, unapologetically himself, salt-of-the-earth kind of guy. Those who love him are left to mourn-and we are better because we knew him.

Lee is preceded in death by his dad, Alfred 'Blondie' Johnson, his mother, Georgia Neilson Johnson, and brother, Sharron 'Johnny' Johnson.

Services will be held at the Oakley Church- 1224 W. State Road 32, Oakley, Utah 84055
