Kyle Weston Gordon

September 23, 2000 — March 3, 2026

Lyman

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Kyle Weston Gordon, age 25, on March 3, 2026. He was a cherished son, brother, and friend who will be remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, and accepting nature.

Kyle was born on September 23, 2000, in Logan, Utah, to Weston Cregg Gordon and Heather Godding Gordon. He grew up in Hyrum, Utah, where his kind and somewhat reserved nature first began to take shape. Kyle was easygoing, accepting of others, and never quick to judge. Kyle's personality made people around him feel comfortable. At the age of 14, he moved to Lyman, Wyoming, with his family.

Kyle graduated from Mountain View High School in 2019 and was recognized in 2017 as the Student Employee of the Year, an accomplishment that reflected a level of competence and reliability he carried with him into adulthood. Following in his father's footsteps, he later worked for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, where he was known as a dedicated and dependable watercraft inspector who valued doing his job well. He was loved and respected by his coworkers at E80, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Kyle loved his computers and had a natural talent for programming and coding. He took great pride in his abilities and spent countless hours developing online games and software that reflected both his interests and those of the people he cared about. His love of gaming began early in life, starting with classic Nintendo games. The Nintendo Wii was one of his first introductions into the world of gaming, and he spent many nights playing Mario Kart with his mother and sister. Over the years, Kyle enjoyed games like Minecraft, Tanki, and Terraria, and became deeply involved in online gaming communities where he formed meaningful friendships and shared hours of laughter, teamwork, and conversation. As we remember Kyle, we also keep the friends who knew and cared about him through online communities in our thoughts.

In his own reserved way, Kyle had many interests and dreams for the future. He enjoyed electronic and dubstep music and hoped to one day visit all 50 states. In recent years, Kyle was proud of several personal milestones, including buying his own car, sightseeing in the beautiful state of Wyoming and California's Redwoods, and managing his finances independently.

Though he was soft-spoken, those who knew Kyle best remember his intelligence, thoughtful perspective, and good sense of humor, which often appeared at just the right moment. Kyle's life, though far too short, touched many people. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, coworkers, and the many people who knew him both in person and online.

Kyle is survived by his loving parents, Weston Cregg Gordon and Heather Godding Gordon; his older sister, Jade Breanne Gordon; his paternal grandparents, Susan and Cregg Gordon; his maternal grandparents, Barry and Rhonda Godding; and many extended family members, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his cousins, Deegan Blake Gordon and Jake Lynn Stallings, and by his great-grandparents.

Kyle's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, at the LDS Church in Lyman, Wyoming. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon.

A Celebration of Life will be held later that evening from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at BadLands Lanes in Mountain View, Wyoming. Free bowling will be available for anyone who would like to come and honor Kyle's life. This will be a family-friendly gathering where friends, family, and community members are welcome to come together to remember and celebrate Kyle.
