Kurt Artie Hammond, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away at his home in Evanston on November 17, 2025.
He was born on November 3, 1955 to Ervin and Aloma Hammond in Logan, Utah.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he faithfully served many callings including a mission in north Georgia, a member of the bishopric, and scoutmaster.
Kurt loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He taught them about hard work and dedication to family. He enjoyed working with his hands and making crafts.
He is survived by his daughters, Joleen Hansen (Harold) and Emily Hammond; sons, Glenn Wiggam and Brandon Hammond (Maria); sisters, Shawna Johnson (Doug) and Wendy Nelson; sisters-in-law Katherine Short, Caroline Rowe, Barbara Rowe, Ellen Olsen (Terry), and Celia Williams (Kent); brother-in-law, Clyde Kofoed (Tracy); 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Rowe Hammond (1982), and Alice Irene Kofoed Hammond (2025); son, Michael Wiggam; grandson, Jordan Hansen; parents, Ervin and Aloma Hammond; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Solomon and Harriet Rowe, and Lynn and Ila Kofoed; brother-in-law, Dwight Nelson; and sister, Evette Shaw.
Graveside services will be scheduled at a future date at the Evanston City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help cover final expenses. Donations can be made at https://gofund.me/bb8d087aa.
