Kevin Thomas Burkett

Kevin Thomas Burkett, 57, of Lyman, passed away January 10, 2026, at home after a battle with cancer.  Kevin was born November 5,1968, to Thomas Leroy and Virginia Mary Sparrow Burkett in Norfolk, Virginia.  He married the love of his life Christy Dawn Long on December 10, 1991.

Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and riding his most prized possession Rosey.  Kevin spent his life working as a roofer and building houses, eventually starting his own business with his daughter.  Kevin enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.  Kevin was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Kevin is survived by his wife Chris, daughter Virginia, daughter Crystal ( Kyle), his granddaughters Keira Sheridan and Raelynn,  his brothers, Tommy (Niki Bree), George (Audra), William (Valerie), sister Amber, his mother Virginia, and  his brother in law Mando (Arianna) Stewart, max, Mary long and  the many kids he took in as his own, Chance (Mary Brooks Conner Lou Lou ), Lorrissia Schafer Taygin, Kendra Mikal Sanchez Elliot Stetson and the many nieces and nephews who he loved very much. 

Kevin is preceded in death by his father Thomas, son Christopher Bassett/Burkett, Uncles George, Bill, Tim, Dan, nephew Johnny Burkett, and a brother in law Billy. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at The Heart of the Valley Baptist Church, 280 7th Street in Mountain View.  Viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to services.  Interment will be in the Fort Bridger Cemetery.
