Karon Lou Hutchings

Karon Lou Hutchings, a beloved daughter, mother, and dedicated educator, was born on July 30, 1941, in Evanston, Wyoming to Andrew Horne and Luella Tremelling Horne.

She passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, surrounded by love and cherished memories.

Karon was a passionate pianist, and music profoundly shaped her life. She dedicated many joyful years to teaching piano lessons, sharing her love of music with students of all ages. Her talents extended beyond music; she worked alongside her husband, UG 'Gene' Hutchings, in the restaurant business for many years, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all who visited.

Karon was passionate about history, particularly World War II. She enjoyed imparting her knowledge about this era to children, fostering a love of learning that inspired many.

Karon was preceded in death by her husband, UG 'Gene' Hutchings; her parents; her grandparents; her step-daughter, Kari Rogers; and her step-grandson, Bryan Rogers.

She is survived by her three devoted daughters: Saralu (Ron) Skidmore, Andrea (Michael) Turner and Nicky (Wendell) Robinson, and Step-son Dane (Chris) Hutchings who will carry her legacy forward. She is also survived by a sister Ruth Farnsworth, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held to honor Karon's life and contributions. Public viewing will be available at Crandall Funeral Home on Friday October 2, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Saturday October 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. A graveside service will follow at the Evanston City Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Mountain Care Center for their loving care of mom for the last several months of her life.

Karon will be laid to rest in the tranquil surroundings of Evanston, where she spent all of her life, and she will always be remembered for her kindness, passion, and the lasting impact she made on those fortunate enough to know her.
