Jon Jay Evans

Evanston

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jon Evans, our beloved brother and cherished friend, who left this world on August 25, 2026.

Jon was born on August 8,1957, in Evanston, Wyoming he was so small that he wasn't given much of chance of making it through the night. After a lengthy stay at the hospital Jon's Mom moved upstairs and isolated him from the world. He was fed every two hours with an eyedropper until he was strong enough to drink from a bottle and with much love and hard work he lived for 69 years. Jon lived a life marked by love, laughter, and the joy of family and friends. He was the sixth child, third son of William and Dorothy Evans. He is survived by his three sisters, Dixie, Tamara and Susan, and his brother George. He was preceded in death by his older brother Dewey and his parents.

Jon was a man remembered fondly for his warm heart and gentle spirit. Jon found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep appreciation for music, often filling his home with melodies that brought joy to those around him. His love for reading was well known, which took him to many wonderful places and allowed him to create memories that will be treasured by his family and friends.

Jon's greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family. His siblings were not just family but friends who shared in his laughter and supported each other through life's journey. Jon's presence was a constant source of comfort and strength for those who had the privilege of knowing him.

"He will be missed by all who knew him," the family shares, a sentiment that echoes in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of being part of Jon's life. As we remember Jon, let us celebrate the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.

He will be laid to rest in the Evanston City Cemetery next to his parents.
