John Clyde Cox passed away peacefully on October 20, 2020 at 3:55 a.m. after an abrupt illness. He was surrounded by family, his amazing caretaker and his little dog, Maxie.
John was a proud member of the Evanston Volunteer Fire Dept. for 48 years. He retired from the Wyoming State Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry Ann Cox; father, Francis Cox; mother, Marion Cox; sister Virginia; daughter Kristina Cox; stepson Wally Walbridge; and granddaughter Kelli Walbridge.
He is survived by daughters Cynthia Brough, Brenda Murphy and Janet Williams; son, John Clyde Cox, Jr; Stepsons, Kenny and Mikel Walbridge; as well as 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Services for John will be held at Crandall Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing 1 hour prior. A graveside service will follow at Evanston City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in John’s name at the Evanston Fire Dept.
