E. Jared Winn, best known as Jared by those who loved him, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, in Murray, Utah.
Born in November of 1974 in Salt Lake City to Jay and RaeLee Winn, he grew up in the Rose Park area of Salt Lake.
Jared was known for his fun-loving humor, even when it may have been hard for most of us to find the joy in difficult situations. He had a gift for good-natured teasing, and no one was safe, least of all the people he loved most. Embarrassing them in public was his way of saying "I love you," and the laughter that followed was how he showed affection, trust, and joy in their company. He was quick-witted and charming.
Professionally, Jared worked as a building engineer for the Boyer Company for the last many years of his life. He enjoyed working, keeping his hands busy, and his colleagues would not hesitate to say that he brought comedic relief to the workplace as well.
Whether it was at work or in his personal life, Jared loved many around him and showed that love by sharing his interests with them. He took quiet pride in doing things the right way. That love of craft showed up in his collection of vehicles, each one with a story he was glad to tell. He never waited to be asked to serve anyone who needed help.
Jared is survived by many loving family members and friends, including his mom, RaeLee, and his sons, Colton and Alex. He is preceded in death by his father, Jay, and his sister, Monica.
An open-house celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, October 14th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Murray Park Pavilion 2 (425 E. Parkside Drive, Murray, UT 84107). Open mic memory sharing will begin at 6:30. Casual dress code with fall colors encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Glioblastoma Foundation.

The family would like to thank those who supported them and cared for Jared in the final months of his life so that he could live and pass peacefully, especially those medical providers on his hospice team, including Nurse Rebekah.
