In Loving Memory of Janice M. Crystal
Our beloved mother passed away peacefully at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories. She was born in Kamas, Utah, to Margaret and Wallace Mitchell, and enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up alongside her siblings.
On August 31, 1963, she married the love of her life, Jimmy Crystal, in a ceremony held at her home. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple, a reflection of the faith that remained central throughout her life.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her three children: Michael J. (Nici), Machele Smith (Marty), and Brent Crystal (Jess). Her family continued to grow, blessing her with eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply.
Family was the center of her world. She especially treasured her Christmas Eve gatherings, a tradition that brought everyone together in love and laughter. She had a special fondness for Disneyland, was a dedicated fan of The Jazz, and loved everything Elvis. Her vibrant personality and warm spirit made her an absolute joy to be around.
She faithfully served in her church callings and found great fulfillment in serving others. She found immense happiness in being involved in her family’s lives, especially attending her grandchildren’s football, basketball, rodeos, and soccer games, as well as supporting her great-grandchildren in their many activities.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and dear friends at the Family Tree for their compassionate care and support.
Graveside services will be held on May 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in Francis. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her unwavering love, her joyful spirit, and the beautiful example she set for her family.
