It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jan Nelson Russell, who left us peacefully on October 8, 2025, at the age of 68. Jan was born on May 3, 1957, in Evanston, Wyoming, a town that held her heart and shaped her spirit.
Jan was the cherished daughter of Herbert "Gene" and Barbara Nelson. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Herbert "Gene and Barbara Nelson, who instilled in her the values of love, hard work, and the importance of helping others.
Growing up in Evanston, Jan graduated from Evanston High School, where she developed friendships and memories that would last a lifetime. After completing her education, Jan worked at several convenience stores, where her infectious smile and friendly demeanor brightened the day for countless customers.
In her later years, Jan worked at Mountain Regional Services, where she devoted herself to helping others. She touched the lives of countless individuals, and her compassion and empathy made a profound difference in the lives of many.
Jan's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She is survived by her loving brother, children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles and friends whose lives she touch through her work and kindness. Her spirit will forever shine brightly in the memories shared and the lives she transformed.
Jan will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Rest in peace, dear Jan. Your journey here may have ended, but your impact will echo through the lives of those you loved.
In her honor, the family kindly requests that donations be made to any diabetes organizations, a cause that Jan cared about deeply. She understood the challenges faced by those living with this condition.
A graveside service will be held in early summer to honor Jan's life, allowing her loved ones a moment of reflection and remembrance.
