It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Grant Hofer, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who left us on June 9, 2025, just days shy of his 90th birthday.
Born on June 12, 1935, in Salt Lake City, UT, Grant lived a rich and vibrant life, filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
A talented carpenter by trade but he would say framer, Grant dedicated many years to the construction industry, where his craftsmanship was admired and respected. Those who knew him will remember his love for horse racing and sports, as well as his passion for ranching. As an Army Paratrooper, Grant served his country with pride, and that spirit of dedication carried on throughout his life.
He is survived by his three wonderful sons, Robby (Ramona) Hofer of Mountain View, WY, Ronny Hofer of Colorado Springs, CO and Richard Hofer of Evanston, WY, who carry on his legacy, and his sisters, Sue Stadmiller and Delores Platts, who shared many cherished memories with him and his former spouse Barbara Kragovich.
Grant was also a proud grandfather to Ryan Hofer, Robyn Lenahan, Rachel Hofer, Kyla Eddy, and Michael Cordova, who brought him so much joy and nine great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on June 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Lyman City Cemetery.
Prior to the service, there will be a public viewing at the Lyman LDS Chapel at 127 Main Street starting at 11:00 AM-12:30 PM.
We invite all who knew Grant to come, share a story, and celebrate the remarkable life he lived.
Grant will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Hertha Hofer and four brothers.
