George C Long “Clay” (76) passed away at n September 18th, 2026 at his home in Urie Wyoming. Clay was born August 27th, 1950 to Donald Eugene Long and Lila Jane (Lee) Long. He was the 3rd eldest of 6 children he was raised in Kemmerer Wy until he was 15yrs old they moved to Fairview Wy after the passing of his dad. 

Clay met the love of his life Carol Ann Leavitt at the Silver Spur Cafe of Afton Wy in may of 1968. One year later on June 6th 1969 they married in Jackson Wy” he didn’t want to lose her to the military” they were able to spend 57 wonderful years together they had 6 children- Christy (Kevin) Burkett, Cathy Long, Clayton(Arianna)Long, Donald “max” Long, Stewart (Chris) pendleton, Mary(Matt) Long. They raised 5 of their grandchildren as their own- Crystal(Kyle)Bassett, Christopher Bassett, Candace(Jake) Bullinger, Shailynn(Shayne) Sibert, and Kayla Bolt. They had a total of 21 grandchildren and 19 and counting great grandchildren 

Spending time with his family is what he enjoyed most. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and just being out doors he loved hunting every year with his brothers buzz, binky, and David while teaching his kids and grandchildren. He looked forward to going to the family reunion every year.

He’s is proceeded in death by his father, Mother, grandson Michael, grandson Christopher, and his son in law Kevin. He is survived by his wife carol, brothers Richard, Buzzy, Binky, jimmey, and David his 6 children Christy, Cathy, Clayton, Stewart, Max, Mary, and 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and greats. Services will be held September 26th 2026 @10am at the heart of the Baptist church in Mountain View lunch will follow. “REMEMBER ITS JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE OILFIELD”
