Franklin Holland Spero

Franklin Holland Spero came into the world on a cold Evanston, WY -am I moaning, (as he loved to call Wyoming). on December 13, 1944. He was born at home in the little house at 1425 Main Street. The Dr. who delivered him, Dr. Holland, took as his only payment, name the child after him.

He left Wy for the first time when he enlisted in the Navy when he was 16. He had to wait for two months before he turned 17 to be sent to Vietnam. He did 3 tours, patrolling the rivers and deltas in the tin can Navy

He was a sailor, a minor, a cop, and a salesman. But most of all he was a beloved Father and Friend.

H was an active member of the American Legion and VFW for most of his life. He served as commander and held many other positions.

Franklin passed away at home, October 5, 2025, surrounded by so much love. He was called home and was received up in Glory by his Lord and Savior.

Franklin is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edwin and Jeannette(Kiddy), his brother Albert Werner (Lorraine, living), sisters, Charlotte Ann, Mary Elizabeth and Lori Jacobsen, his first wife, Judy Green Miller and the love of his life, Karen Ann Spero.

He is survived by his children, Mistylin Cook (Matthew John (D)), John Spero (Kerri Wright), Thomas Spero and Neal Grisso. Hi sisters, Teddie (Robert "the mushroom man"), Sterling, Joannie (Rodney, Rotney Allen Ripley") Cornia, Jeannie ( Shorty) Cornia and brother Tom Jacobsen.

His most loved, 9 Grandchildren, Kaycee Wasserburger, Krystal Clouse, Jacob Spero, Joshua Spero, Jase (McKayla) Spero, Sarina Sailee, Donessa Spero, Jaelynn Grisso and Alex Grisso. He also has 13 Great Grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a celebration of life here in Evanston on April 1, 2026. (His and Karens Anniversary)
