**Obituary for Frankie Dewayne Workman**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frankie Dewayne Workman, who left us on July 1, 2026, just a couple of weeks shy of his 83rd birthday. Frankie was born on July 18, 1943, in Concordia, KS, and spent his life brightening the world around him, particularly in his role as a custodian for the City of Evanston, where he took pride in his work and the community he served.
Frankie was a true character, known for his love of gambling and his willingness to lend a hand to those in need. He cherished the light-hearted bickering he shared with his dear friend Jim Davis and others, always ready to engage in friendly banter.
Frankie is survived by his beloved wife, Penny Workman, and his son, Frankie Jr. He will also be missed tremendously by his sisters, Sharon and Darlene, his brother Donnie, and his cherished granddaughters, Mikaela and Rochelle. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Bennie, as well as his brothers Durl, Bennie Jr, Rex, Jimmy, and Eddie, and his sister Burndette.
After his passing, Frankie will be cremated, with his ashes to rest at a location that held a special place in his heart.
