Earl O'Driscoll

Earl J O’Driscoll, 79, passed away Friday January 25, 2019 peacefully at his home in Evanston, Wyoming.

He was born in Kamas, Utah on February 20, 1939 to Jesse Paul O’Driscoll Jr. and Irma Simmons O’Driscoll.
He worked various jobs in Kamas while dating Arlene and after they were married.

On November 21, 1958, Earl and Arlene were married in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. Then they resided in Kamas, Utah where he got a seasonal job for the Forest Service and the lumberyard.

In 1966 Robert Hanson on the Wasatch Cache National Forest hired him on full time on the Evanston, Wyoming side of the forest.  Earl, Arlene and family moved to Evanston to work full time for the Forest Service.

He did many jobs on the forest; Forestry Tech Special uses Administrator, Facilities Manager, Fleet Manager, and Safety Officer on fires and fire crew boss.

He traveled to many fires outside of Wyoming and he loved the Forest Service.

He escorted Smokey Bear in the Cowboy Days Parade every year and was chosen Grand Marshall for Cowboys Days in 2014.

He retired in 2009 having worked 48 years with the Forest Service.

Thanks to his daughter in law Glena, he and his wife traveled to Hawaii, Europe, a Caribbean cruise and to many islands out in the sea.

He and his wife traveled to Minnesota and to Oregon to see their children as well as their local children.

He served many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which included Bishops Counselor, High Councilman, Sunday School President and Stake baptisms.

He was also very talented in doing woodworking; he made numerous clocks and shelfs for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arlene Moore O’Driscoll; six children, Rick (Glena) O’Driscoll of Evanston, Clay (Linda) O’Driscoll of Lakeville, MN, Bret (Trish) O’Driscoll of Plain City, UT, Jason (Linda) O’Driscoll of North Ogden, UT, Gina O’Driscoll of Layton, UT and Sara (Amron) Lym of Lakeview, OR; two sisters, Wanda Prescott of Kamas and Mary Meserve of Winnett, MT; 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Earl is preceded in death by his mother, Irma Simmons O’Driscoll; father, Jesse Paul O’Driscoll, Jr.; baby daughter, Jill O’Driscoll and a great grandchild, Trinity Marie Stewart.

Services will be 12:00 noon Saturday February 2, 2019 at the LDS Stake Center, 1224 Morse Lee, Evanston, WY 82930. A viewing will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday and 11:00-11:45 Saturday at Crandall Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Evanston City Cemetery.
