Doylene Shepherd Graham
The world's greatest granny went to join those who have gone on before her for a much anticipated reunion, on May 17, 2026.
Doylene was born November 16, 1939, in Springville, Utah, to Doyle Shepherd and Evah Nielsen. Shortly after she turned three years old, her father, Doyle, was in a garage fire and died the next day. A few years later her mother remarried, blessing her with three brothers she loved very much. She attended school in Payson and then in Orem with her lifelong friends, Dixie Sabey and Linda Warwood. In later years she graduated from Wasatch High Adult Education Program.
She was introduced to a handsome Wallsburg boy who became her teenage sweetheart and future husband, LaVerl Graham. They were married and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. When LaVerl passed, they had been married nearly 60 years. They settled in Wallsburg and raised four children, Kim, Doyle, Kelly, and Jess. Mom was totally devoted to her family and loved having her 14 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren near. She could never be visited enough by them.
Mom was always up for a good time with family or friends. Mom enjoyed family pictures, Diet Coke, camping, road trips Jergen's lotion, and especially Halloween and Christmas parties. There was always treats on hand to pass out to anyone visiting, especially the little kids.
Doylene is survived by her kids Kim (Tom) Hicken, Doyle (Tammy), Kelly, and Jess (Dana), her brother Jack (Bobbi) Elmer, her sister-in-law Toni Elmer and numerous nieces and nephews and multitude of friends.
Doylene is proceeded in death by her husband, LaVerl, her parents, brothers Kenny and Fred. Also by a great grandson Ty Hicken and a great granddaughter Hannah Hicken.
Mom was the ultimate example of unconditional love and acceptance. She will be missed by so many.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26,2026 at 11:00AM. Viewing will be held the evening before from 6:00-8:00 and just prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:45 AM. The viewing and funeral will be held at the Wallsburg Ward Chapel. Interment to take place at the Wallsburg Cemetery.
