Dee George Foust, affectionately known to many as "Rat," passed away unexpectedly at his home in Marion, Utah, on October 6, 2025, during a valiant fight with cancer. Born on May 10, 1955, in Coalville, Utah, Dee created many fun memories with his friends and family.
A graduate of North Summit High School, Dee was a man of many talents and abilities. He was skilled in drawing and photography, had a love for music which he expressed through his guitar and listening to albums, and showcased his ingenuity as a professional welder. It wasn't uncommon to find him in his garage, tinkering with anything that had a motor. He possessed a gruff demeanor, yet those who knew him understood that this exterior masked a kind and personable individual with a dry sense of humor.
Dee created a fun atmosphere in his home, teaching his children that cooking dinner was best accompanied by the sounds of rock ‘n roll music and some enthusiastic dancing. He took immense pride in teaching his kids the joys of softball, baseball, and basketball. He also enjoyed watching the Raiders football team, coaching Little League baseball and Jr. Jazz, coaching and playing with the "Rat's Raiders" men's softball team and coaching women's softball, a team of which his wife and daughters were a part. Dee always owned a dog or two and he cared for many of them during his lifetime. He had an appreciative eye for beautiful sunsets, various wildlife in the field behind his house, and the sight of classic automobiles and Harley Davidson motorcycles passing by.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie, and their children: daughters Nicole (Nicklaus) and Megan (Mike), as well as sons Jason (Kayla) and Brandon. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kate, Sammi, Jordyn, Boston, Oliver, Jessica, and Jasper.
Dee was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert (Pete) and Karol Foust, and father-in-law, Blaine Cossey.
Dee's family would like to thank Dave Scott, Mark Taylor, and many others for their time and kindness shown to our Dad and Mom. We'd also like to thank the ladies at the Chevron for their friendship with our Dad, making him smile and laugh often.
Dee's legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched and through the countless memories shared with his family and friends. A funeral service will be held on October 13, 2025, at the Marion LDS Stake Center in Kamas, Utah, at 1:00 PM, with interment to follow at 2:00 PM. Per Dee's request, no public viewing will be held. A family gathering will be held from 11am to 12:45pm at the Stake Center.
