Corbin Elliott Smith

July 22, 1983 — May 4, 2025

Grand Junction

Corbin Elliott Smith, 41, passed away on May 4, 2025. In Grand Junction, Colorado. He was born on July 22, 1983, in Anchorage, Alaska to Allan and Leslie Smith.

Corbin is survived by Allan Smith (Donna), Phalen Smith, Shannon Johnson (Erik), William Smith, Amanda Felix (Jeremy), and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Leslie Smith (Evans) and Grandparents.

Cory grew up in Southern California and Evanston, Wyoming, where he graduated from high school as an Evanston Red Devil. During high school, Cory was an active athlete on both the swimming and football teams. He also played the saxophone in the Jazz Band. Following high school, Cory lived in Houston, Texas before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado. Cory married in 2010, and he was blessed with a daughter, Phalen, two years later.

Cory worked in the construction and oil and gas industries and enjoyed learning new trades. Cory was known for his ability to fix or repair anything and his problem-solving skills. Cory was one of those people who worked hard and played hard and tried to enjoy every minute of his life. Cory was a prankster who loved to laugh and play tricks on his friends. If Cory gave his friends a nickname, they knew they would be his friend for life. Cory also loved his cats, Calvin, and Jiffy.

One of Cory’s favorite pastimes was watching his beloved LA Rams play football. Cory’s most cherished gift was his daughter who he loved with all his heart. He loved sharing his hobbies with her, and the time they enjoyed rough housing, watching Star Wars, playing board and video games and just being together.

Cory’s loving spirit and endless sense of humor will forever be alive in the hearts of all those he touched; may he rest in peace.
