Clinton "Bob" Robert Charles

Clinton Robert "Bob" Charles passed away at home on July 28, 2025.  Bob fought a battle with Parkinson's, and Lewy Body Dementia for the last 10 years.

He was born on January 29, 1939, to Marian and Frank Charles at home in Lyman, Wyoming.

Bob attended all grades of school in Lyman and then went on to barbering school in Salt Lake City, Utah, to gain his life long career as a barber.  He worked in this career at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska for a few years and then returned to Lyman to open his own barber shop.

Bob is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served in many callings for his church, including being a counselor to the bishop twice and serving on the Stake High Council.  He devoted himself to his church.

Bob's hobbies included rock hunting, team roping, horseback riding, gardening, especially planting trees, hunting and writing cowboy poetry with his wife Marilyn.

He could be called Bobby Appleseed.  Nearly every Russian olive tree you see in Bridger Valley was planted by him as a young boy and into later years.  Some of his trees are growing out in the Wyoming desert.

From the time Bob was a little boy to recent times he always had a horse or two.  Bob loved his family and had great pride in his two children.

He married Marilyn Banks on January 30, 1975, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple.

He is survived by his son, Shane (Maria) Charles of Mesquite, Nevada, his daughter Coralynn Cordon of Beaver Dam, Arizona, five grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Nathan Charles, Aaron Brown, Kory Stanley and Olivia Charles, five great-grandchildren and his wife, Marilyn.

Funeral Services will be held at the Lyman LDS Chapel, Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:00 pm.  Viewing will be held prior to services at the church from 11:30 to 12:45.  Interment will be in the Lyman City Cemetery.
