Carole Brown Lazenby, 82, of Francis, Utah, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 30, 2025, just two weeks shy of her 83rd birthday. Her sweetheart and husband of over 64 years, Dennis Lazenby, preceded her in death in January. She was his everything, his “brown” as he lovingly called her. It’s no surprise to anyone who knew them that they are now together again. They never did anything apart for long, and we all knew Grandpa was impatiently waiting for her.

Carole was born on July 13, 1942, in Heber City, Utah, to Virginia (McNeil) Brown and Walter William Brown, and spent most of her childhood in Francis. She graduated from South Summit High School and married Dennis the following summer. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in hard work, deep love for family, and unwavering resilience.

Carole was a true cowgirl and a Woman of the West. She was independent, strong, loyal, and loving. A farmer and rancher through and through, she irrigated her pastures without leaving a dry spot, raised cattle, spent summers herding in the forest, bottle-fed calves and lambs, and worked side by side with her husband to maintain their farm. She was just as comfortable branding cattle as she was sewing at her machine, cooking a roast, or fixing something around the house. She worked tirelessly to help support both her family and the farm. She took pride in doing things right and doing them herself. Through every season of life, including many broken bones and accidents, she stood by her husband, lifted him up, and kept going. She never made a hasty decision and she never gave up.

Carole was known for her sharp wit, genuine nature, and warm smile. She always had time for a good visit and a heartfelt hug. She could irrigate a pasture, hem your pants, and remember everything - names, dates, and the little details no one else could. She enjoyed the simple things: a good buffet, a horse ride in the mountains, a Coke or a cup of tea (as long as it wasn’t Earl Grey), a burnt piece of meat as she put it, and weekend trips to Wendover or Mesquite to play the penny slots and escape the cold.

She was deeply loved, completely adored, and will be endlessly missed.

Carole is survived by her children, Lesa (Greg) Ballard, Stacy (Lamont) Lundgreen, and Tom (Teana) Lazenby; her sister, Sharon Angus; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her infant child (Baby Lazenby); and her parents, Walter William Brown and Virginia Mcneil Brown.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kamas Event Center (50 East 400 South, Kamas, UT 84036). Interment will follow at the Upper Francis Cemetery.
