Evanston

Carl Eugene Bezanson passed away at home in Evanston, Wyoming. Carl was born to Carl Richard and Kate Louise Bezanson in Cedar City, Utah. Carl was the middle child of nine children. After graduating from Beaver High School, he attended Southern Utah State University. Carl graduated with a double major, in botany and zoology. Carl obtained further education in range management at Utah State University and at the Bureau of Land Management National Training Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Carl's career as a Range Conservationist with the Bureau of Land Management expanded over 40+ years. Carl was esteemed by his peers for his knowledge, abilities, and achievements. To a great degree, Carl enjoyed being involved in wild land fire fighting and managing wild land fires across the United States.

Carl was raised in Beaver, Utah with a mix of adventure and hard work. Carl loved music and playing his guitar. He enjoyed the great outdoors, exploring, hiking, hunting, ice fishing, fishing, wildlife photography and birdwatching. In later years he enjoyed driving with friends and especially time fishing with his grandsons Stryder and Ruger.

Growing up Carl developed skills learned from his father, his brothers and diverse employment, construction, logging, handyman tasks, manufacturing and creamery work. Carl worked at Southern Utah State University in custodial services, getting up at 5 am before classes to complete tasks. Between university years, Carl also worked as a foreman while constructing large electricity transmission towers across the Arizona/Nevada desert. After graduation from the university, Carl married Peggy Nielson in 1975 and later brought two wonderful children into the world, Jared and Rachel Bezanson.

Carl is survived by his wife Peggy of 49 years; daughter Rachel Bezanson; grandsons Stryder and Ruger Bezanson; sisters, Corinne (Rod) Fletcher, Marilyn (James) Webster, Lorrie (Robert) Laird, Wendy (Max) McCrosky and Lesa Bezanson; brother, Wayne (Deb) Bezanson and all of his wonderful nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Kate Bezanson; brothers, Richard and Charles Bezanson; son, Jared Bezanson and good friend Jerry Valentine. The reunion with his son will be nothing less than a joyous time for them both.

The Bezanson family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Mark A. Lewis, Dr. Zendejas, and the nurses (Marlin, Nancy, and Ivy) for the excellent care Carl received at Intermountain Medical Center during Carl's courageous fight with cancer. Special thanks to family and friends who assisted Carl during his fight for life: Clark Nielson, Dave Bassett, Kaye Wilson and Arnold Gomes. Thank you to ALL of those who provided words of comfort/peace, meals and flowers.
