Arthur Byron Caldwell

Arthur Byron Caldwell was born October 19, 1935 and passed away September 25, 2026. He was the 2nd of 4 children born to Ivan Verne (Buck) Caldwell and Eva Anderson Caldwell. His siblings were Betty Jane Caldwell Brown, Cherie Ann Caldwell Harris and Jeffrey Verne Caldwell. Dad married the love of his life, Ada Ardine Toone Caldwell on December 9th 1957.

They formed a union of great love and companionship, which became complete with the addition of 6 children. Scott Arthur Caldwell (Debi), Wade T. Caldwell (deceased), Craig Eric Caldwell (Diane), Angela Marie Caldwell Johnson (Alex), Todd Warren Caldwell (Shannon), and Jon Phillip Caldwell (Dana).

Those unions produced 23 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

Dad and Mom were adventurous souls. They lived life patterned after the manner of happiness. They spent every possible minute with each other and blessed the lives of everyone with whom they came in contact. They had friends everywhere. No one was excluded from their circle of influence and friendship.

The greatest blessings in their lives are their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Through countless experiences, they manifest that family is at the core of finding happiness. Dad loves his family deeply, and they love him. He has formed a loving bond with them that will endure through eternity.

Dad showed through example that the way to find happiness in life is through service to your fellow man. He and Mom served a mission for the Lord in the Utah Cove Fort mission. He served in positions of leadership and responsibility, but the position he cherished the most was being a husband and father.

He served our country in the Utah National Guard for 8 years, advancing to the rank of Sergeant.

He served his community as a fireman with Salt Lake County Fire for 27 years advancing to the rank of Lieutenant.

He loved nature, the outdoors, and had many adventures with his wife, sons, and daughter camping, fishing, and hunting. As his children, we were taught how to utilize the bounties of the earth. We learned how to take care of the things we harvested and our families have been blessed because of it.

Dad will be greatly missed. We know that a wonderful reunion is currently taking place on the other side of the veil. Knowing him as we do, he's probably teasing someone right now; he might even be giving them a wet willy.

Preceded in death by Ivan Verne "Buck" Caldwell, Eva Anderson Caldwell, and his sister Betty Jane Caldwell Brown. Son, Wade T. Caldwell, Grandson Hunter Caldwell, and Great-Granddaughter Marie Harper Johnson.

We love you, Dad! Until we meet again.

There will be a visitation Friday October 9, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Crandall Funeral Home in Kamas.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday October 10, 2026 at the Marion LDS Stake Center with a viewing prior to the service at 9:30 AM.

Interment will be in Murray City Cemetery.
