Annette Oldroyd France of Lyman, Wyoming, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 at home after being recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Annette was born March 7, 1953, in Richfield, Utah, to Warren Frank Oldroyd (deceased) and Julia Jensen Oldroyd (deceased). She has 7 Brothers & Sisters: Raymond Keith (deceased), Julia Kaye (Will), Cindy, William (deceased), Brent (Steve), Farrell, and Karen.

Annette's father, Frank, worked for Safeway Corp. Therefore, Annette, in her early years moved with her family while he managed Safeway stores in Richfield and Cedar City, Utah, and eventually in Evanston, Wyoming.

She completed all her schooling in Evanston -- graduating from Evanston High School in 1972. She was a proud cheerleader for the Evanston Red Devils.

As a young woman, Annette worked for the motel laundry in Evanston. She also waited tables at the Outpost Cafe and worked as a flagger on the new resurfacing of I-80.

She Attended Weber State College in Ogden, Utah and worked the Safeway store to help fund her college experience. She lived with her Aunt Vi and later moved into the girls’ dormitory on campus.

In 1972 she met Richard (Rick) France on a blind date. They Attended a Carpenters Concert in Salt Lake City. They fell in love and were married on Aug 3, 1973 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Her early married life was spent in Centerville, Utah where she worked in the office of Menlove Dodge Car Dealership. She had a beautiful yard and garden in Centerville and had many friends.

In 1979 Rick was employed by Mountain Fuel Supply, so they moved to the ranch in Lyman Wyoming where she created another beautiful yard and garden for her children and grandchildren.

While raising her family, she had a successful embroidery business. She was a talented seamstress -- making and repairing boat canvasses & trampolines for people all over Uinta County. She made all of the recognition banners hanging in the gym at Lyman High School.

She was also employed by Uinta County Conservation District, Farm Bureau Insurance, and Uinta County School District #6, retiring as a librarian.

She & Rick have seven children: Richard, Mykel (Clint), Robert (Tan), Warren (Emilene), Daniel (Linda), Benjamin (Kaylie), and Julia (Jake).

She has 27 grand children.

Annette served an 18-month mission with her husband, Rick, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in the Trinidad Port of Spain mission -- later renamed the Guyana Georgetown mission from 2022-2024.

She made many friends there in Suriname and became very close to the missionaries. She became ill with dengue fever while in Paramaribo and was very sick but recovered well enough to finish her mission assignment.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was loving, caring, and very organized and a motivated mother and grandmother.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 19,  at 11:00 AM in the Urie LDS Stake Center at 3815 North Highway 414, Urie, Wyoming with a viewing Friday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 pm and again at 9:30 AM to 10:45 before the funeral on Saturday.

The family expresses thanks for all of the cards, meals, flowers, and well wishes she received from friends and family during this difficult time. A special thank you to Best Home Health & Hospice for their tender care in her final days.
