Alice Irene Kofoed Hammond

Alice Irene Kofoed Hammond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Rocky Mountain Care in Evanston.

She was born on December 2, 1950, in Evanston, Wyoming, to Lynn Jensen Kofoed and Alice Ila Robinson. She spent her early years with a love for the land, often visiting Hillard to help on the Robinson Ranch, where her love for hard work and family grew.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Alice held many cherished callings throughout her life, including Relief Society President and service in the Family History Center. Her unwavering faith and commitment to the Gospel were the guiding principles of her life. Alice was also proud to be a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, honoring her heritage and the pioneering spirit of her ancestors.

Alice had a gift for creativity and craftsmanship. She was an exceptional seamstress, capable of creating anything from intricate quilts to her daughter's prom dress. Her talent also extended to crocheting, cross-stitching, and making beautiful handmade items for her loved ones. These creations, like her love, will be cherished for generations to come.

Family was everything to Alice. She dedicated herself to nurturing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her pride in their accomplishments was evident in every conversation. Alice cherished the time spent with her loving husband, Kurt, and the many animals she adored. Her home was a place of love, laughter, and warmth, where she taught those around her the values of love, charity, and service. Her generous heart, warm smile, and strength in the face of life's challenges were hallmarks of her character.

Alice peacefully passed away with her sweetheart Kurt by her side. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Kurt Hammond; daughter, Joleen Hansen (Harold); son, Glenn Wiggam; son, Brandon Hammond (Maria); daughter, Emily Cannon; sisters, Ellen Olsen (Terry) and Celia Williams (Kent); brother, Clyde Kofoed (Tracy); sister-in-law, Shawna Johnson (Doug); sister-in-law, Wendy Nelson; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Wiggam; grandson, Jordan Hansen; parents, Lynn and Ila Kofoed; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ervin and Aloma Hammond; brother-in-law, Dwight Nelson; and sister-in-law, Evette Shaw.

Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Noon Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Sage Street LDS Chapel with a viewing starting at 10:30 AM.

Interment will be in Evanston City Cemetery.
